AISH health benefits can fund physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage therapy and acupuncture as health-related personal benefits.
Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped includes a health benefits card alongside the monthly living allowance. Alongside prescription drugs, dental and optical coverage, AISH provides health-related personal benefits that can fund services including acupuncture, chiropractic, massage therapy and physiotherapy.
AISH and Alberta Works coverage may help eligible recipients access certain health-related services. Coverage extends to the recipient and, in most cases, to a spouse or partner and dependent children. The health benefits card is valid within Alberta.
Because these are personal benefits rather than an automatic entitlement, funding is generally approved in advance rather than simply billed. If you receive AISH and want treatment here, the first step is a conversation with your AISH caseworker about a health-related personal benefit for the service you need.

Ask about a health-related personal benefit for physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage or acupuncture, and what documentation they need.

We can provide an assessment, treatment plan or letter setting out what is recommended and why, in the form your caseworker asks for.

Once the benefit is approved we bill according to the approval so you are not out of pocket.

I have been seeing Hiya for my physio since a fall and a car accident. She is lovely and goes above and beyond for her clients, you can truly see she is passionate about her work. The front desk girls are all wonderful too! Always so nice, and remember you by name, greetings everyone as they come in the door. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience.Posted on Google![]()

Zoey was incredibly thorough—she listened carefully, explained the underlying causes of my persistent neck and shoulder problem, and provided treatment that delivered fast, noticeable results. The front office staff are exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It’s genuinely a pleasure to visit this clinic.Posted on Google![]()
