Two names on the booking page. Here is which one you actually want.
The One-Question Version
Can you point at it?
If you can put a finger on the spot that has been bothering you for weeks, book deep tissue. If the honest answer is that everything feels tight and you need to stop for an hour, book Swedish.
That covers most people. The rest of this page is detail for anyone who wants it.
The Real Differences

Pace
Swedish flows continuously across the body. Deep tissue slows down and stays in one area.

Pressure
Swedish stays comfortable throughout. Deep tissue works at a firmer level you can still breathe through.

Coverage
Swedish is whole-body by default. Deep tissue concentrates time where the problem is.

Purpose
Swedish reduces overall tension and calms the nervous system. Deep tissue targets a specific persistent restriction.

Afterwards
Swedish leaves most people relaxed. Deep tissue can leave a day of tenderness, like unfamiliar exercise.

Frequency
Swedish suits regular maintenance. Deep tissue is often a short course while a problem resolves.
Common Misconceptions
What About the Others?
The two names above cover most bookings, but a few problems are better served by something more specific:
- Trigger point therapy — when pressing one spot reproduces pain somewhere else.
- Myofascial release — when restriction is broad and long-standing rather than one tight muscle.
- Sports massage — when the timing around training and competition matters.
- Prenatal massage — during pregnancy, where positioning and technique change.
If you are unsure, book and describe the problem. Choosing the appointment type is our job, not yours.

I have been seeing Hiya for my physio since a fall and a car accident. She is lovely and goes above and beyond for her clients, you can truly see she is passionate about her work. The front desk girls are all wonderful too! Always so nice, and remember you by name, greetings everyone as they come in the door. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience.Posted on Google![]()
