Veterans and RCMP Treatment Coverage Camrose

Veterans Affairs Canada funds treatment for eligible Veterans and serving or retired RCMP members. We can bill VAC directly for approved services.

How VAC Coverage Works

Veterans Affairs Canada funds health care through a set of benefit groups known as Programs of Choice. Physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy fall under POC 12, Related Health Services.

Whether a particular service is covered for you depends on your VAC health identification card, the conditions VAC has recognised, and in some cases on prior authorisation from VAC. Some Veterans hold coverage tied to specific entitled conditions; others hold broader coverage.

The practical route is simple: bring your VAC health identification number to your first appointment and we will confirm what can be billed before treatment goes ahead, so nothing is a surprise.

Your VAC health card number

This is what identifies your coverage and the conditions attached to it.

Any authorisation you already hold

If VAC has already approved a course of treatment, bringing that speeds everything up.

Helpful when the treatment needs to be linked to a recognised condition for funding.

Veterans and RCMP Questions

Physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage therapy sit within Related Health Services, POC 12. What is covered for you personally depends on your card and your entitled conditions, which is why we confirm before treating.
Some services under POC 12 require prior authorisation from VAC and some do not. We will check your situation at the first visit rather than leaving you to find out afterwards.
RCMP members receive health benefits administered through arrangements with VAC. Bring your identification and we will confirm what applies.
You can still be treated. It would be billed to your extended health plan if you have one, or paid privately. We will tell you the position before treatment, not after.
Not to be treated at our clinic. Any referral requirement would come from the funding side, and we will identify that when we check your coverage.

I have been seeing Hiya for my physio since a fall and a car accident. She is lovely and goes above and beyond for her clients, you can truly see she is passionate about her work. The front desk girls are all wonderful too! Always so nice, and remember you by name, greetings everyone as they come in the door. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my experience.

Zoey was incredibly thorough—she listened carefully, explained the underlying causes of my persistent neck and shoulder problem, and provided treatment that delivered fast, noticeable results. The front office staff are exceptionally welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It’s genuinely a pleasure to visit this clinic.
